Every tool on this site was researched from official vendor pricing pages and 2026 review sources (G2, Merchant Maverick, TechRepublic, and vendor documentation). Prices, plan limits, and feature lists were last verified on September 25, 2026.
Where we could not verify a claim — a conflicting price, an undisclosed commission rate, a rumored price change — we left it out rather than publish it as fact. What you read here is what we could confirm.
What we score
- Pricing transparency and value — clear list prices, honest free plans, no trapdoor upsells.
- Free-plan generosity — what you can actually do without paying.
- Invoicing quality — templates, customization, recurring billing, reminders.
- Payments — gateway choice, processing fees, payout speed and geography.
- Time tracking and expenses — for freelancers who bill hourly.
- Freelancer fit — solo-operator workflows, not enterprise checklists.
We weight for real-world freelance use, not feature count. A tool with 40 payment gateways doesn’t outrank a simpler tool if most freelancers will never touch 39 of them.

SaaS pricing changes constantly — QuickBooks Online, for example, has raised prices six straight years. We re-verify pricing against official pages on a rolling basis, and every page shows its last-updated date. Spot an error? We’d rather fix it than defend it.
